The Right Reasons to Give Your Car a Wax Polishing

We’ve never heard a car owner say they want to see their vehicle in horrible condition and last for a short time. Unfortunately, many people cannot keep their car in a desirable condition because they don’t know where to start. If you’re a vehicle owner who wants to keep their car shiny for a more extended period, you should take the necessary steps.

That being said, have you ever tried wax polishing on your vehicle? You should remember that waxing your vehicle frequently could add longevity to its shine and its original colour. Car waxing comes with several advantages. Let’s check them out.

Why Wax Polishing?

People typically wax their cars for added protection and aesthetic enhancement. If your vehicle is losing its shine and needs to go through the waxing process, do not hesitate. A car can look new for around 3–4 years before losing its ability to remain shiny. You can prevent your vehicle from fading away after a self-service car wash by waxing it.

Waxing your car means you are simply adding an artificial layer to your vehicle’s body, which will protect your car from heat, moisture, minor scratches, dirt, and dust. If you have not waxed your vehicle after a car wash, the paint will be open and vulnerable to damage by adverse weather conditions. Thus, every car owner needs to wax their car occasionally to protect its original finish and colour.

You can also use wax polishing to repair minor scratches, blemishes, and imperfections of your car. It can protect the paint from dirt, rain, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. In addition, if you hire professionals from the industry to wax your car, they should be able to bring back its lost gloss.

Applying Do-It-Yourself Wax Polishing

While wax polishing takes some time and a certain amount of skill, it is not something you cannot try on your own. By following a few simple methods, you can do it alone and save a lot of money!

  • Step 1: Wash, dry, and clean your car before rubbing a detailing clay bar. This procedure has to be followed correctly to avoid damage to paintwork. Pitting and marring may occur if this process is not followed carefully.
  • Step 2: After washing and drying,  apply a clay lubricant on the car’s surface to keep it lubricated while you use the detailing clay. One can avoid damaging their vehicle’s surface by using a good detailing clay bar. They are available in different grades that cater to different levels and types of contaminants on the vehicle’s exterior.
  • Step 3: Next, you need to apply car wax, which can be purchased at an automotive store and used according to the instructions on the label. Apply the wax liberally to wet the surface, let it sit for ten minutes, and then wipe it all off. Apply another application and let it sit for another ten minutes. Rub the wax off with a soft cloth, then wash and dry the car to get all of the wax off.

The paste wax will serve as a hard coat on the paint that acts as a protective shield. This blend will make the car shine and maybe even deepen the paint colour. Avoid getting wax on painted surfaces such as windows or chrome trim, as it’s not designed for those materials.

In Conclusion

If you’re not confident about wax polishing on your own and want the job done well for your beloved vehicle, hire professionals to do the job for you. Go for self-service coin car washes and waxing only if you can do them correctly. It’s better to do it nice than do it twice and spend more on maintaining your car.
